First off, VERY LARGE KUDO’S to my son, Andrew, for coming up with the initial concept and home page design for this site, and to Edward Loveall, for taking that concept and turning it into a web site. My computer tech skills leave a lot to be desired…this website would not exist without you. So thank you, guys…fantastic job!!
My name is Ray Nault, I am an acoustic guitar player and singer from Blackstone, Massachusetts. I have been singing since I was old enough to talk, and taught myself how to play the guitar after first picking up an old flat top back in 1977 as a 16-year old kid. Playing music is an absolute passion for me. My Mom and Dad, God rest their souls, both loved music big-time, and their influence and encouragement will forever be a major part of what I do. They continue to be my inspiration, every time I pick up the guitar.
As I update this page here in December of 2022, I can reflect back on a life that has included music every step of the way, from gigging local clubs as a teenager, to competing in the United States Air Force “Tops in Blue” talent contests while serving my country as a fighter jet mechanic, to playing fundraisers and parties while raising two boys, to gigging close to 100 times a year at the peak of my solo career after our boys went off to college.
Today I am still going strong, I still play 3 to 4 hour gigs non-stop without a break (something I’ve always done…people tend to leave when you take breaks), and although the past couple of years have really taken a toll on live music, it’s coming back strong and I am hungry to keep it going.
My ever-growing song list includes old and new country, a variety of easy-listening-James-Taylor-type stuff, and lots of classic rock. I am a country boy at heart, but I love all the music I play, and I am always learning new songs to keep it fresh.
